Monday, 14 May 2012 16:46
Gautrain Route Pretoria (P1)Did you know that Pretoria has close to 40 different museums?  And on the 18th of May we are celebrating International Museum Day!  We decided to tell you about an easy way to manoeuvre around midtown to squeeze in a few visits to our local heritage sites – the Gautrain bus system.  Conveniently stopping walking distance from many of our lovely museums, it’s an easy way to explore our cultural history.  Consider bunking work on Friday and explore a side of our city you don’t notice that often.

From the train station, follow the Outer Bus route (P1 Pretoria - CBD Outer).

* Please note: it is advised to be vigilant with regard to safety while travelling in the city centre. Do not carry valuable possessions in a visible manner.

From the Hatfield Gautrain station there are five bus routes to pick and choose from.  Our first focus point will be the Brooklyn route. Moving from the bustling student hub deeper into the luxurious Brooklyn neighbourhood, you will be able to sample a wide range of experiences.  With a decadent concentration of restaurants midway on the route, it's perfect for browsing town for a few hours and then stopping for lunch.

The Three Pretoria Stations
Wednesday, 15 July 2009 09:14

Gautrain Station - HatfieldHatfield is the northern station and the corner post at the end of the route. It's easily accessible from the N1 and N4 and situated within the Hatfield business node also very close to the University of Pretoria and other academic institutions. The theme for this station is academic and you can see it in various design elements used in this station.

Dedicated Gautrain Bus service bus service for passengers will feed the station from the following areas: Menlyn, Lynnwood, Brookly, Arcadia and Waverley.

Read more about this station on the Gautrain official website, click here.

The Pretoria Station is next to the existing Pretoria Station building, railway lines, platforms and the historic Herbert Baker Station which loads it with historic value and it pays tribute to South African rail history and commemorative brass plaques are placed among the tiles throughout the entire building.
