March is Big Rugby month - March 2012

Pretoria.co.za
Hello Visitor
The most important season in any full-blooded South African's life is kicking off... (no pun intended on da kicking part!) We'll give you a few pointers on how to make the most of it.
Things to do in March

Local Rugby ClubJoin a local club
If you feel like getting in on the action, check out our directory for details on a few local rugby clubs. Nice way to keep fit and make some new friends. Otherwise, pick another sport that you fancy, or investigate a different kind of new hobby.

Buy a rugby jersey
It is the ultimate pride and joy to own a supporter's jersey. Get yours to feel like you're part of the team. Luckily we've got a few options of shops across town where you can pop in to gear up. Sneakers Duty Free specialises in a full range of sports replica gear. Visit them in Menlyn Shopping Centre, shop 11, lower ground. Another good option to try out, is the Sportsmans Warehouse. Shops located across town – Atterbury Value Mart, Centurion Value World, and Montana Crossing Value Mart.

St. Patrick's Day – Hatfield Square
In between the rugby fever, there's another important moment. He's pretty much the most widely known saint in all the world! A day of celebrating Irish culture and fun in general. Visit the Square for some good ol' Irish brew and musical festivities.Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 10:00am until Sunday, March 18, 2012 at 2:00am. Call Malcolm 012 362 7177 for more info or click here.

Wiesenhof Coffees
Kobus Wiese, a great big force in the rugby world, moved over from scoring tries to making coffee. Support a rugby legend by visiting one of his coffee shops, scattered across town. Gift Acres, Shop 48, Gift Convenience Centre, Lynnwood road or pause for a cuppa while you're out shopping at Makro Silverlakes or Wonderboom. Click here for their contact details.

Freedom Park
We commemorate an important date in our country's history this month – Human Rights Day, 21 March. For many it will always remain Sharpeville Day. A brutal day in the fight for liberation, but now we can celebrate the positive outcome of the battle, democracy. Visit the heritage site in Salvokop, set up as a reminder of our country's history with all its meanders, from pre-colonial and colonial to apartheid and post-apartheid. Click here for more information.

Have a lekker braai
in South Africa rugby and braai are synonymous. A good rugby day should always include a good braai. What better way to enjoy an important match than to combine these two. Go old-school and take a radio along to one of these lovely outdoor braai spots: Voortrekker Monument, Wonderboom Nature Reserve, Rietvlei dam. Or go celebrate a big win with friends afterwards! Browse our directory for contact details
