This brand spanking new development is built with the environment in mind. Its eco-conscious construction will hopefully become a much-needed trend that will lighten our carbon footprint on the planet. But enough about that – let’s go explore this green space.
Eat At Menlyn Maine
Something’s Cooking By J
There is a mixture between J’s Portuguese roots, his South African upbringing, and the singer and TV star’s latest obsessions such as Japanese cuisine and healthy alternatives to name a few. At Something’s Cooking all the dude wants is to create a memorable experience for you, your friends, and your family… and he pulls it off quite well.
Guy Fieri’s Kitchen + Bar
The menu sings songs of long dusty roads, greasy diners and big red Corvettes. What’s interesting is that where one would expect the starters to be, there is something called shareables. Now, instead of a little garden salad or a modest prawn cocktail, you will find Guy’s infamous trash can nachos, sashimi won-tacos and chilli cheese fries.
Turn ‘n Tender
As south Africans, we love steaks (why do you think Spur is doing so well!) In fact, Turn ‘n Tender has risen to the top of the local food chain and we’re excited to see a franchise pop up in Menlyn Maine. We’ll have a rib eye on the bone (the only way a rib eye should be eaten) and a double order of chips!
Sushi has shot up in popularity in recent years. We implore that you check out Koi. From classic California rolls to fancy fashion sandwiches, they’ve got it all… and it’s pretty tasty as far as our sushi standards go.
Stay At Menlyn Maine
The Maslow Time Square
Modeled after psychologist Abraham Maslow’s Hierarchy Of Needs, the Maslow Time Square Hotel stands 17 stories tall and stuffed with 238 rooms. The building can be seen from Lynnwood Park. From the top of the hotel, on a good day and with the right set of eyes, you can see all the way to Midrand and Cullinan.
Play At Menlyn Maine
At the time of writing Time Square celebrated its first birthday (where’s the cake!). The 8 500 seater gaming lounge boasts some of the best games in the country. If you feel like taking Lady Luck for a swing, then Time Square is the place for you.
The Public Park
Menlyn Maine – keeping true to its eco-conscious design – boasts a massive park dotted with benches, jogging trails and bike lanes for those who love to stay close to nature. Whether you are in the mood for a chill in the park or a brisk walk with friends, the park at Central Square is the place for you.
The Bounce Inc. in Menlyn Maine has an awesome Free-Jump Arena, trampoline Slam Dunk, Big Bag, Dodgeball and Wall tramps in the Performance area… and you don’t have to be a kid to have loads of fun there! In addition to all of these epic areas, this Bounce Inc. features a first of it’s kind, never before seen Adventure Challenge Course called X-Park. So, grab the gang and challenge them to a race around this epic new addition.
