You currently live in Melville but studied in Pretoria, tell us about that.
I studied and recieved my BTech Diploma in Drama at the Tshwane University of Technology in 2005.
What made you decide to study in Pretoria?
When i asked around about the best place to study drama, everyone recommended Pretoria Tech because it's more practical work than theory. And well, acting is more practical.
As a student, did you ever wish a Jacaranda flower would land on your head so that you would pass the exams?
I'm not superstitious at all. I do however have my lucky necklace and underwear.

What's your favourite thing to do in Pretoria?
When I was a student, I used to go for pizza at Side Walk Café. They had the best pizza. I'd say now probably hanging out in Irene.
How did you meet your husband Ivan?
We met when studying drama. He was a first year and myself a third year and when we started chatting we could not stop. Soul mates, yeah.
After seeing you in the Kyknet series Getroud met Rugby, men will be scared to call you their wife. Are you anything like your character Driekie?
Not at all. I think every women has their dark side. But not as drastic as Driekie. When people meet me they always say im nothing like Driekie, they expected this serious bitch. Haha. I have a very soft heart for all things in life.
You had great success with the movie BAKGAT and BAKGAT2, do you prefer comedy?
Can't really say if I prefer comedy. I like doing different characters in different genres. Comedy is fun to do, but drama is so intense - I love it.
In BAKGAT 2 you played an overweight first year, but you were actually pregnant so you had to wear a fat suit to hide it. What was that experience like?
It was difficult to move around and it put a lot of strain on my body. I got tired very quickly and had to wee a lot, which is a mission with a fat suit...hahaha.
How did you get back into shape after your pregnancy?
I was lucky to lose the weight quickly. I didn't really do anything specific. Hopefully good genes that will stick after the second baby.
Tell us about your projects for the rest of the year.
"Superhelde" is a movie that my hubby and Andrew Thomson wrote and we finished shooting early this year. It will be released in March 2011. I'm very excited about that. We're also directing the second season of a SABC science show for kids, "Tomz", and I think the next season of Getroud met Rugby will start with production again later this year.
