  How long have you been living in Pretoria?
I have been a Pretoria girl all my life. I was born in Die Pretoria
Moedersbond on the 15th of January 1982, attended Laerskool Skuilkrans and then proceeded to Pro Arte High School. Post matric, I packed by bags and headed for Stellenbosch where I completed a degree in Performance Art at the University of Stellenbosch. I returned back home and to this day is staying in Hazelwood and enjoying every minute thereof.
What do you love most about Pretoria?
I absolutely adore the weather! I have a very close circle of friends and I try to spend a big chunk of my free time with them and my very charming boyfriend.
Where is your favourite hang out in Pretoria?
I enjoy the vibe and the hospitality of our good friends at Rhapsody's Menlyn and Parkview. When given the chance I like to sneak away to Aandklas and Oppisquare in Hatfield.
Currently you can be seen on Survivor South Africa: Santa Carolina (Wednesdays on Mnet at 19:30). Being in the public eye all the time surely puts pressure on you to look your best for each TV, magazine or public appearance, were you concerned about going bare (without mak-up that is) and showing your most natural self to the public?
I was relieved to get rid of all the fuss!! The funniest thing was that we had no idea what we looked like...we had to ask each other if we were having a bad hair day! [Chuckles]. My job requires me to look a certain way all the time and sometimes it is so exhausting. If I had a choice I would wear my hair in a plat everyday. Luckily I have a team of excellent beauty and cosmetic consultants who helps me every step of the way.
You were on the show with beauty queens, models, TV presenters, etc. Surely you must have had a few days you weren't as compfortable showing their true selves for the nation to see? Come on...give us the juicy details!
[Laughs] No, there wasn't. [More laughs]
What will you be doing this Valentine's day?
Due to both my boyfriend and my own hectic schedule, he has decided to take me on an early Valentine's break away to lovely Lavigno in Italy for a ski holiday. I will be rolling and laughing my way down the slopes. I am so spoiled. |
