Vouchers, vouchers, vouchers!
Possibly one of the easiest (and quickest) gifting options ever – vouchers! All you need to do is head to a store that your loved one adores the most, decide on the amount you want to spoil them with, swipe at the cashier and boom… cash on a voucher, ready to be used. You can take your pick from Yuppiechef (will be used online), Edgars, Red Square, @Home, Woolworths – in fact, practically anywhere. Our suggestion is to buy a shopping centre card from their favourite mall, which will give them more variety from all the stores available in the centre.
Another easy gifting quick fix is a gift set filled with a few things they love. Whether you’re looking for something for her or him, stop by The Body Shop, Red Square, Sorbet, Dischem, Foschini Beauty, Clicks or Edgars to check out their bath, shaving, perfume, cologne and lotion gift sets. There is bound to be a set that screams their name!
You can never go wrong with beautiful stationery! This makes the perfect gift for practically everyone – for him and her to use at the office, the kids that are off to school, and varsity students. And the one place that has some of the best stationery on the planet is, of course, Typo. Their items are trendy, vibrant and just too darn pretty for words. They offer everything from an assortment of pens (including the ones with cute characters and fans on the ends), notepads and phone covers to cute mugs, desk décor and quirky gadgets.
Let’s face it, we all enjoy a quirky gift. The Gadget Shop has a few fun options that anyone will love, including LEGO Character Alarm clocks (Darth Vader, Superman and Yoda), fidget spinners, miniature desktop games, beer pong sets, a magnetic key target, and funky neon lights. Visit a store near you to see what they have available.
Wine or Whiskey
If your loved one enjoys a glass of wine or whiskey to “wine down” in the evenings, then this is a great gifting option. There are also Jack Daniel’s Whiskey gifting sets, complete with a bottle of Jack and tumblers or a limited-edition cap. Head to your nearest liquor store to see if you can find one – the perfect for any whiskey lover.
Perfume or Cologne
We did touch on this topic slightly in the gift set suggestion, but this deserves a special mention. Most of the time, people need a top-up of their favourite scent, so why not gift them with a refill or brand-new bottle of their favourite perfume or cologne? Not only is it thoughtful, but it’s easily accessible as you can get your hands on almost any perfume at Red Square, Truworths, Woolworths and Edgars beauty departments.
But What About The Kids?
Luckily for us, kids are delighted with almost any gift you get them. You can get a hamper full of sweets (speak with the parents first as they will have to deal with the resulting sugar rush), clothing with their favourite cartoon characters (Frozen and Ben10 are favourites, we’ve noticed), and of course, any toys that will keep them busy for hours. The Toy Kingdom and Toys ‘R Us have a wide variety from which to choose. Chat to in-store advisors about what’s new and their recommended items for particular age groups.
