Liefling, the Movie, featuring singer Bobby van Jaarsveld and actress Lika Berning (Jana Cilliers’s daughter) is the first Afrikaans Musical in more than 30 years to hit the big screen. The legendary Gé Korsten featured in the original movie and it is his daughter, Linda Korsten, in her role as co-producer, who is to be thanked for the revival of this film.

The music, produced and arranged by Johan Heystek includes old favourites as well as modern day hits. Kurt Darren, Kevin Leo and Sonja Herholdt can also be seen in the movie. The breathtakingly beautiful Hartebeespoort area sets the back drop for this love story, but the film crew also shot some scenes on location in Switzerland.

Sy klits kapsels left, right and centre, verf lippe rooi en oorlaai almal met komplimente.

“Nee kyk, lipstiff laat my beter voel. Ek’t hom nou so met die ear bud uitgegrawe om ‘n bietjie kleur in my lewe te bring.” Ek smile net.

Suzette* sit langs my.

‘Nee, skryf my regte naam.

Julle inspireer my!

Baie liefde,

7 Minutes with Karlien van Jaarsveld
