So, it’s the last week of the school holidays, and by now you are almost running out of ideas to keep the kids entertained…  Before you feel like pulling your hair out with frustration, look no further than our extensive events guide!

Our city is full of fun things for kids to explore.  For the remaining part of the holiday, make a visit to the Irene Village Mall – winter holiday entertainment include lego building, colouring in and a dollhouse where kids can dream up expansive make-belief lives.  For a memorable moment – plan a visit on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday between 13:00 and 15:00 for a photo opportunity with the Irene Cow. We boast with the largest zoo in South Africa and it’s also rated as one of the top zoos in the world.  The National Zoological Gardens junior nature conservator will be hosted during this last week of the holidays. But even an outing to the local Wimpy or Spur for a milkshake and some fun in the kiddies play area, can make a boring day look more exciting for a little kiddie heart!  We tend to forget how wonderful such a small outing is in the world of kids.

Or even more simplistic, pack a picnic basket and a soccer ball or other outdoor games and visit your local park.  We are privileged to have a park almost around every corner in our neighbourhoods! Let the kids enjoy the fresh air and get rid of some pent-up energy by playing on the swings, round-about and slide.

Another fun visit, is Menlyn shopping centre.  With its wide range of kiddie-friendly activities, you can choose between the Playpark, games arcade, the movies or for the more daring – the go-karts.  Be adventurous and jump into the activities with the kids to enjoy the fun!
