 PRETORIA.co.za celebrated its second year of serving Pretoria this week with an exclusive event at Rhapsody's Menlyn. This dynamic website's popularity is growing rapidly and this August a new record of monthly visits was reached – 47 609! The success was celebrated with a vibrant party atmosphere and pumping live music kept the jovial spirits high throughout the night.
The who's who was mingling with the average folk, celebs Hanna Grobler and Bok van Blerk joined the merry celebrations. Hanna also gave an informative speech to tell people about how this energetic initiative was started. It took putting a few heads together for ideas and one year of planning before the website was launched on 01 September 2009. The website is a unique combination of entertainment and business, informing people about what Pretoria has to offer, while boasting with a handy and diverse directory.
 The events calendar is an easy to use guide to keep abreast with what's happening where every week on various entertainment levels, from classic theatre productions to bustling live music gigs. The directory currently has 168 categories (and counting) and has various special features, such as a description, photos and contact details. In total the directory currently has 1269 directory listing!
The event was a huge success thanks to the sponsors – Rhapsody's Menlyn, La Belle Vita, Webersburg Wines and SAB – contributing a funky venue and delicious drinks to keep the party-goers in a good mood the whole evening. The hip and happening vibe was a good indicator of what PRETORIA.co.za wants to be for the city. Pretoria has so many hidden gems and its this website's aim to expose people to more of the unknown fun elements that can be enjoyed.
 Niel Groenewald, organiser of Park Acoustics (Fort Skanskop) says that loading his events on the site gives him the best feedback of all the available entertainment directories on the internet and that the easy to use user-friendly interface enhances the site's popularity. It is PRETORIA.co.za's aim to create a platform for advertisers and their clientèle to interact on a regular basis with convenient access to information.
Marleen Swart, prize-winner to the VIP event, found the website via Google and enjoys the regular competitions on offer. Through the monthly electronic newsletter she finds out about new restaurants to visit. With the increased site usage, PRETORIA.co.za is becoming the most prominent website on any search result about anything concerning Pretoria.
