Ludwig’s Roses

So, you want romance, huh? Well, walking among a ton of roses could fall right into that category. A short drive down the N1 will take you the splendid flower paradise that is Ludwig’s Rose Farm. Go ahead and grab your favourite human for a stroll among hundreds upon hundreds (if not thousands) of roses. You can wander about these grounds for free, and maybe you will even find some roses or rose-related products that tickle your fancy. Why not settle down for a drink or a meal while you’re there? In the midst of all the roses, you will find The Rose Kitchen – a great place to sit back and take a breather. So, when the weekend rolls along, why not wake up and smell the roses with someone you love?

1000-Year-Old Fig Tree – Wonderboom Nature Reserve

The Wonderboom Nature Reserve is in of itself a wonderful place for an outing. But apart from its everyday charms, there is something special. Nestled in the Wonderboom Nature Reserve is a magnificent 1000-year-old fig tree – and it’s the stuff of legends. What better place to declare your undying love than with a kiss under a tree that has been alive for  1000 years. Pack a picnic basket and enjoy the surrounding nature with the one you love. If you feel particularly energetic, you can hike up to the Wonderboom fort for a spectacular view – it’s a great place to catch a sunset.
