It’s the latest craze in fitness. If you haven’t heard of it before, it’s a type of outdoor group exercise. A new mountain biking venue has recently opened in Pretoria East. Explore the cycling, trail running, birding, and walking experiences offered on this 140 hectare farm, situated in the Bronberg mountain range. Put a bit of exercise in your weekend and throw some nature in the mix. The monthly National Zoological Gardens of South Africa's 5km Fun Run/Walk at the Pretoria Zoo is hosted by the Friends of the Zoo society and costs R30 for non-members of the society and R20 for children under the age of 15. If you want to become a member of the society, it will cost you R20 per event. This includes entry to the zoo, as well as a medal received upon completion of the race. Events take place every third Saturday of the month, starting time is 06:30AM and the gates open at 06:15AM for registration.
