And this NYE, there's no better place to say farewell to 2018 and welcome 2019 than at the biggest New Year's Eve party of them all — the Blockbuster Block Party, taking place at the Sun Arena, Time Square, in Pretoria. Ring in the New Year like a rockstar! For the second year running, Time Square proudly presents the ultimate New Year’s Eve celebration, the Blockbuster Block Party, featuring an amazing entertainment line-up of the biggest names on the local music scene – and, of course, YOU!

Reminisce and say goodbye to 2018 and welcome 2019 in the best way imaginable — with your mates, partying and dancing the night away at Time Square’s Sun Arena. Hosted by Ayanda MVP and featuring the best of the best in the industry — Black Coffee, DJ Fresh and so many more — this IS the place to be on NYE! Expect 12 hours of entertainment, 13 local DJs and countless midnight memories.

Black Coffee @REALBLACKCOFFEE

Shortly after being selected as part of the 2004 Red Bull Academy, Black Coffee shot onto the South African music scene with his own brand of electronic and deep house music. With five self-produced albums under his label, Soulistic, Black Coffee has become a household name, having won a string of SAMA Awards.

Black Motion @REALBLACKMOTION

Deep house duo, Black Motion, was formed in 2010 when Robert Mahosana (DJ Murda) and percussionist Thabo ‘Smol’ Mabogwane decided to join forces. Using vocals, keyboards and traditional drums, the multi SAMA Award-winning act is fast becoming a force to be reckoned with on the music scene.

Dino Bravo @DJDINOBRAVO

Born in Cuba and raised in Angola, DJ Dino Bravo moved to South Africa in the early 90s where he started spinning vinyl at Club 51 in Yeoville. With a career that spans 30 years, this well-known DJ is revered for his eclectic fusion of genres including hip-hop, kwaito, pop, Bhangra music and more.

Ayanda MVP @AYANDAMVP

Radio and club DJ, Ayanda MVP was just 15 years old when she landed her first role as a TV presenter. She was still studying at The National School of Arts in Johannesburg. Honing her mixing skills on Tuks FM, Ayanda received her break on commercial radio when she was selected to host the Bona Fide show on YFM.

DJ Kent @DJKENTSA

DJ Kent is one of the most recognisable names on the music scene. The self-taught DJ-turned-entrepreneur has a global following and has become the most imitated artist in SA with his songs being remixed in over 12 countries.

Euphonik @EUPHONIK

DJ Euphonik is one of South Africa’s most popular DJs whose dance music spans a variety of genres including commercial house, Afro-house, deep house, R&B and kwaito. Euphonik was given a DJ-ing slot on DJ Fresh’s show on 5FM and soon afterwards bagged his own show on the same radio station.

Fresh AKA ‘Big Dawg’ started his career as a DJ on YFM and later moved to 5FM where he hosted both the morning and afternoon drive shows for nine years. Currently, DJ Fresh hosts The Fresh Breakfast Show on Metro FM.

Vin Deysel @VINDEYSEL

Gavin ‘Vin’ Deysel is considered one of South Africa’s rising stars and is widely regarded for his cutting-edge mixing skills. When he’s not ripping up the decks for his radio fans, he dabbles in sound engineering and music production and has released three solo albums featuring remixes of popular club hits.

DJ Ready D @DJREADYD

DJ Ready D, also known as The Black Battle Cat or DJ X-Plode, catapulted onto the scene after winning the South African National DJ Championship in 1990. In 2005, he released his first solo album and a second called Big Air Society in 2014. As a music producer, TV host, radio DJ and mentor to many aspiring hip-hop artists, Ready D is undoubtedly one of the most skilled and versatile musical artists South Africa has ever seen.

Chrizz Beatz @CHRIZZ_BEATZ

Hip-hop DJ and artist, Chrizz Beatz, is known for his agile mixing skills and eclectic combination of tunes. He regularly plays on 5FM and has worked with some of South Africa’s biggest names including Da Les, WTF and South African Idols runner-up Rheema Varrie.

Jullian Gomes @JULLIANGOMES

In 2012, at the age of 23, Gomes received his first SAMA nomination for Best Dance Album and was invited to play at numerous festivals including Oppikoppi, Rocking the Daisies, the Cape Town Electronic Music Festival and the Sonar Festival in Barcelona. In 2018, Gomes started his own label called World Without End, a company that aims to widen this formidable DJ’s quest for creative expression through the electronic soul genre.

Shimza @SHIMZA.DJ

DJ Shimza is known for his Afro-tech signature sound. This rising talent also took the top prize in Bertrams Next Big Thing competition on Channel O. He then signed with Black Coffee’s Soulistic Music in 2013 and released his debut album entitled Shimuzic in 2015.

Lulo Café @LULOCAFE

House DJ, Lulo Café shot onto the scene after releasing his debut album entitled Deep House Chronicles 2. With his preppy style and suave sound, Lulo is excited to be featured alongside South Africa’s hottest DJs at Time Square’s Block Party on New Year’s Eve.
