We asked our local mom tribe to get better acquainted with the new Baby Dove product range, which was launched in July this year. Pretoria moms, meet Baby Dove…

As soft as a baby’s bottom, that’s what they say, right? Well, I’m not sure who ‘they’ are, but they’re spot on – if you use the right products of course. My little boy (bless his smiley face) has inherited his dad’s very sensitive skin. Bad dad! So, finding a product that won’t make him ‘rashy’ has become my number one mission. When I say I’ve tried it all, I really have. When I heard about Baby Dove I was super excited. Why? Because they’ve got a dedicated Sensitive Moisture range, which I’ll tell you all about now.

The mildness and moisture that is associated with all Dove’s well-known products is a key trademark of the Baby Dove range too. There are two ranges to choose from: Rich Moisture, specifically designed for babies with normal to dry skin, and Sensitive Moisture, designed for babies with sensitive skin. Cue my excitement at the latter.

The Sensitive Moisture range is amazing for little ones who struggle with very dry/atopic-prone skin caused by the dry Highveld air (you know exactly what I’m talking about!). The Sensitive Moisture range is hypoallergenic and fragrance free, and products include a head-to-toe wash, lotion and alcohol-free wipes. I loved the richness of the product and the way it glided on my little one’s skin. After the bath he felt like a soft, fluffy cloud. What more could you ask for?

The Rich Moisture range is also hypoallergenic but mildly fragranced. The product lineup in this range also offers a head-to-toe wash, lotion and alcohol-free wipes, plus a baby soap bar that contains – true to Dove’s familiar promise – a ¼ moisturising cream, tear-free shampoo, petroleum jelly and nappy cream.

What I also really love is the well-designed Rich Moisture Nappy Cream container. Most babies – mine included – love playing with the nappy cream container while being changed (colourful toy? Noooooo… Container? Yes!!) and the Baby Dove Rich Moisture Nappy Cream has no sharp edges that can potentially hurt curious little hands and gums.

The alcohol-free Baby Dove wet wipes are a little bit thicker than most other wipes on the market. This might explain the slightly elevated price (well worth it) you can expect to pay for a pack of these gentle yet great-to-use wipes. The other Baby Dove products are affordable and available at most major retailers across the country, as well as Baby City and Baby Boom. My little boy’s skin gives it the thumbs up, and that’s all I could ask for.
