¡ Bienvenidos, Niños!
When one door closes another one opens. That’s the case at Guy Fieri’s South Africa Kitchen and Bar at Time Square in Menlyn Maine. A new entrance to the restaurant means that young children can now tuck into the big flavors and scratch-made American-style food for which Guy Fieri is renowned. Previously the restaurant had to be accessed via an entrance on the casino floor. Visitors can also purchase Guy Fieri branded merchandise in the retail alcove at the new entrance.
Bacon Mac ‘n Cheese Burgers?!
The menu sings songs of long dusty roads, greasy diners and big red Corvettes. What’s interesting is that where one would expect the starters to be, there is something called shareables. Now, instead of a little garden salad or a modest prawn cocktail, you will find Guy’s crazy trash can nachos, sashimi won-tacos and chilli cheese fries. All of these are meant to be shared. You can go ahead and try to finish one of these dishes on your own, but then you won’t have any space left for mains.
More Bacon In The Drinks?!
Skip the old Coca Cola and let the kids try out the Caramel Bacon Deluxe Milkshake while the grown ups can dabble in something a bit more boozy, such as the freaky Tiki Rum Punch. The drink choices were constructed in the same way the food menu was – with a lot of creativity and daring.
At long last, little South Africans are getting a taste of Guy Fieri’s award winning burgers like the one-and-only Bacon Mac ‘n Cheese Burger and signature sandwiches such as the Motley Que which has real-deal American barbecued pulled pork. This little man, three year old Rowan Schulze from Centurion, was caught enjoying this giant-sized burger at Guy Fieri’s South Africa Kitchen and Bar.
