Ideas For Date Night In Pretoria

Sometimes, life gets away from us, and we lose track of things. This can be especially problematic if you are in a relationship. That is why date night is one of those important, age-old traditions that is not to be shirked. Kicking back with the person you love in the midst of a stressful week may be just the thing you need to make the week easier. So, let’s take a look at a few ideas for date night in Pretoria.

Date night

Moonlight Horse Ride – Voortrekker Park

While Voortrekker Park might not be on the forefront of romance in your mind, there are few things more romantic than a sunset and a moonlight picnic. If that sounds good to you, Cape Riding has got you covered. You can enjoy a beautiful African sunset while you explore the nature reserve surrounding the monument on horseback. Afterwards, you can enjoy a romantic moonlight picnic for two. This outing makes for an evening of adventure, fun, relaxation and a beautiful view of the stars – all shared with a person you care for.

Ice Skating And Arcade Fun – The Grove

While this might sound somewhat juvenile to some, this can be a wonderful way of getting to know your partner. You are never too old to have some old-school fun. So, why not whisk your special guy or girl away for an evening of child-like joy. Have some fun dancing around together on the ice – first one to take a tumble buys dinner. After a lovely dinner with some wine, venture into the arcade and have a go at tenpin bowling or get in the bumper cars. Hit the arcade machines and get some friendly competition going. You might be lucky and see a whole new side to your partner. A playful evening out could be a great way to strengthen your bond and make new memories.

The Village – Hazelwood

The Village is one of Pretoria’s favourite and trendiest places to hang out at the moment. It seems we are finally escaping the closed atmosphere of malls and shopping centres in favour of a more open-plan dining experience. The Village is a couple of blocks filled with restaurants and cafés, like Culture Club, Alfies and Cowfish. You certainly won’t be starved for choice and are bound to find a place that delights you.

Arguably one of the best things about The Village is how easy and comfortable it is to walk the streets between restaurants – it really gives you an ‘out-of-Pretoria’ feel. The fairy lights give the area a fantastic kind of atmosphere, and it does wonders to foster a romantic feel as you stroll along the numerous restaurants before finding a place to settle for dinner. Why not hit up a different joint for a nightcap after dinner? After all, it is only a short walk away.
