April @ Zwartkops
With the Regional Extreme Festival just passed, don’t feel bad if you missed it. The National Extreme Festival is just around the corner, and you might want to make a note of the 6th April 2019. That’s when it’s happening, so plan accordingly. There’s also a Brunch Cruise track day on the 7th April, a day after the festival.
In April too, the Sasol Solar Challenge will take place as a special event. Happening from the 11th to the 15th April, the biennial event sees solar vehicles travel between provinces in a competition to see who has the most functional (and stylish) solar vehicle. The winning team is the one that logs the highest number of kilometers in their solar car. The Japanese from Tokai University have been legacy winners, but this year’s race is an open play, and anyone can surprise.
The Legacy Projects Initiative is a spin-off from the event, and it supports communities along the route with education and training, as well as energy solutions, which is pretty cool.
There’s another SuperTrax day planned for the 28th April, so don’t sweat it if you missed the first one earlier in March.
May @ Zwartkops
Three events shine out for the month of May, and they are the first SuperTrax day on the 5th May. Thereafter the Historic Tour/Inland Championship takes place on the 18th May, and the month closes with another Brunch Cruise on the 26th May.
June @ Zwartkops
June kicks right off with a SuperTrax day on the 2nd June, following by a Brunch Cruise on the 9th June. The highlight of the month must be the SAES/Regional Extreme Festival that will once again rock the raceway, so make a note of that one.
